Blog #20: Please Excuse My Negligence!
I just realized it’s been over a month since I’ve posted a new Scars chapter, so I thought I’d pop in and tell everyone what’s been going on with me. There’s really no reason for me not posting, other than the fact that I haven’t had time to really write pretty much all summer. There’ve been some really exciting things going on here, and that, added to my crazy work schedule, has slowed me down a bit. I’m hoping to get back on track soon, though, with a new chapter.
As for what exactly has been going on with me, here are some details. Last week a friend and I took a 6-hour road trip to Sudbury, Ontario, so that I could meet the one and only Backstreet Boys. Yes, I met them, I’m still reeling from it. I saw them in concert in Toronto earlier in August, but this time I got to attend their sound check before the concert, where I, along with about 40 other fans, got to see them perform 4 songs (2 of which were not part of the concert later that night), and got to meet them. I even got to hug Brian, who’s been my favourite BSB since day-one, 13 years ago. I’m still waiting for the Fan Club to post the pictures they took of us with the guys, but as soon as they do, I’ll add it to the bottom of this blog so everyone can see.
This experience, aside from my wedding day, was probably the best thing that’s happened to me. When I met Orlando last year, that was super-exciting, too, but the BSB have been my favourite group since I was 12. Getting to meet them after all this time (13 years) was such a huge deal, I wasn’t sure I could get through it without crying (I did, but only barely). I love Orlando, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve only been interested in him for a few years, so meeting the BSB edged that out based on longevity alone. That being said, however, I wouldn’t trade either experience for anything.
Anyway, aside from that, I’ve had some health issues that have kept me from writing as well. I pinched a nerve in my neck at the end of June, which rendered my right hand pretty much useless for awhile. Typing with one hand is intensely frustrating, so I gave up trying to write while I couldn’t use both hands. I’m back to normal now, though, so there are no more physical obstacles standing in my way.
So now that my negligence of my latest creation has been somewhat explained, I’m off to try to write the next chapter. I’ve written it once or twice, then deleted it because I hated how it turned out. I don’t want to post sub-standard writing. I’m in the mood to write today, though, so here’s hoping my muse co-operates and I can get something decent committed to the page. I’ll keep everyone updated!
Thanks for reading, and I promise it won’t be too long until the next chapter is posted!

Glad to know that you are still with us! Sounds like you have had both good and bad times this summer but I’m glad that you are feeling better.
I’m a patient person. I’ll keep checking for updates. Take care.

Hey! I too, will keep checking! I hope you find some inspiration to continue the story in a way you can be happy with… Lucky for me I have been busy reading the twilight series lol, and I took your advice and read the online ‘midnight sun’ - it was great! Take Care,
Cheers L
