We Knew It Was Coming - Part Sixteen

I went back into the living room, where Orlando sitting on the sofa, leafing through my Wicked script. I kneeled down in front of him and ran my hands up and down his legs.

“Hey, you,” I said softly, feeling such tenderness as I looked up at him that it scared me.

We Knew It Was Coming - Part Seventeen

By the time we got home, the fire had cooled a bit, but the want was still there. He took my hand and we went into the house. Aunt Tess was sitting at the kitchen table as we made for the stairs. We called goodnight and she winked at me as I passed. I followed Orlando upstairs.

Who Knew? - Part One

“Fifteen minute, people, fifteen minutes!”

Madeline, one of our assistant stage managers, called our fifteen minute warning. I tensed, feeling the knot of nerves in my stomach double in size. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as Janine, one of the show’s make-up artists, finished applying the necessary green paint to my face. She’d already done my arms, hands, neck, back, and chest, and we were just waiting for them to dry before I put the rest of my costume on. My long black wig was perched on its stand on my dressing table, waiting for me to put it on. The room around me was bustling with activity as the rest of the company prepared.

Some Scars Never Heal - Part 5

Over the next week or so, I managed to meet my extended deadline, and it felt good to be able to just relax for a day or two. I was waiting to hear from Georgie to see what she thought of the pages I’d sent her, and I didn’t want to go on with the book until I’d had her in-put, just in case she wanted something changed.

I was attempting to clean my living room a couple of days after my deadline, when the phone rang. I wasn’t expecting anyone to call, since I’d talked to Olivia and my mom that morning. I threw the pile of books I’d been sorting onto the coffee table and dug around in the sofa cushions for my portable phone.
